What To Wear To A Spray Tan

Are you heading out for your first spray tan session?

Getting a glowing tan before your vacation or as the summer starts is a great way to look your best as the season starts to get underway. Spray tan also helps to give your skin a golden-brown glow during the winter as well.

Before you leave for the spray tanning booth, read through these tips.

Spray Tan – Wear loose black clothes after spray tan

What to Wear When Getting a Spray Tan?

Arrive at the tanning salon in whatever you feel comfortable wearing. The tanning salon will have changing rooms allowing you to get out of your work clothes if you’re coming from the office.

During the tanning session, the less you have on, the better.

It’s up to you how much you want to undress, and we recommend you go with what makes you feel comfortable. Some women choose to wear a bra and panties, while others prefer to go topless in a thong.

The key is to avoid creating visible tan lines wherever possible. Therefore, the less you wear, the better.

It’s also important to note that the ingredients in spray tan can stain your clothing. In some cases, the staining can permanently damage your clothing items.

Do You Wear a Bra During Your Spray Tan?

If you’re wearing a bra during your spray tan session, make sure it’s an old one that you don’t intend on wearing again, or only during your spray tanning sessions.

Most clients will go topless to avoid tan lines, but if you do decide to wear a bra, then make sure it’s not your favorite white silk designer bra.

Paint Your Nails Beforehand

Spray tan sticks and doesn’t fade away easily. Most clients find that it’s a pain trying to remove spray tan off of their nails after it dries.

We recommend you paint your nails with a clear coat before your tanning session. The spray tan rubs off of your coated nails much easier than bare nails.

What to Wear After Your Spray Tan Session?

After your spray tanning session, make sure you dress in loose, airy, dark clothing. Loose and airy garments help air get to your skin, reducing sweating that might cause the tan to run and stain your clothes.

Dark clothes help to avoid staining from any bronzer that rubs off on your clothes as the spray tan dries. Loose clothing also helps to prevent you from rubbing lines into the tan as well.

Can I Wear a Bra After My Spray Tan?

If you don’t want to go home without wearing a bra, then bring a strapless one to your tanning session or keep straps down to avoid tan lines on the shoulders.

What’s the Best Clothes to Sleep in After Your Spray Tan?

When you’re getting ready for bed on the night after receiving your spray tan, wear loose-fitting cotton pajamas. The jammies will keep your skin covered, ensuring that you don’t sleep with your hands on your fresh spray tan, causing the tan to stain your palms.

Flip Flops after Tanning Session

Bring some flip-flops to your tanning session. Squeezing your feet into socks and shoes will damage the spray tan on your feet. Tight socks rub on your ankle, leaving a mark on your spray tan. Trouser socks will also leave marks around your knees that ruin the tan.

What NOT To Wear After Your Spray Tan

Avoid these clothing items for at least 24-hours after receiving your spray tan.

  • Leggings
  • Tight shorts or pants
  • Tight tops and shirts
  • Strappy sandals, boots, and pumps
  • Jewelry

If you wear tight clothes, it can rub the tan off leaving you with uneven or spotty tan.

In most cases, the tan will dry 15-minutes after your tanning session and reaches a full cure overnight.

So next time you go for tanning session remember to wear

  • Loose Dark clothes
  • No Bras
  • Flip flops
  • and disposable thongs during tanning session

Happy Tans!
